A good number of you might be wondering what on earth could be so big to get the team on a losing track. Then let me tell you, there can be numerous causes.

With respect to soccer drills for kids, you’ve got to act very cautiously and tactfully. Make it a point to know and value psychology of the kids. Exchange words with them discussing things from their point of view. But unluckily, nearly all coaches are not experienced in this. They simply close their eyes to the dissimilarity between teaching adult players and kids.

So there you have it; top faults of coaches that bring the teams to a point, from where it’s near impossible to get back on to the winning track.

1. Several coaches don’t take their jobs seriously. They don’t arrange the drills, refuse to plan their sessions, and are always late in getting to the field. Activities like these not merely put off the kids but are also terrible. Just like the kids, you too should get serious about soccer. Youth soccer drills should be pre-planned. Arrange for various equipments needed to perform the drills before-hand.

Be punctual. Make it a point to reach the field earlier than the kids. Well in fact, grace the filed with your presence when kids reach. What you get here is the additional time to run through the drills or plan out things.

2. When the coaches are instructing before the kids soccer drills, it is normal for them to take a long time. Can you believe how boring that can be? You must realize that players are more interested in playing than hearing. Keep the lecture short and sweet. Use this talk to motivate the kids and increase their confidence.

It is also important not to disturb them in between the sessions. If there is something that you need to tell the kids, wait for the session to end. Also, stay out of the field when the kids are practicing.

3. Some coaches tend to get emotional or abusive with the players. In soccer drills for youth, both the behaviors are unacceptable. It is bad to display weak behaviour on the soccer field. It is Ok if kids make mistakes. Remember, they are just kids. There is no need to get sensitive about it and be rude to the players.

When this happens, you are making the kids loose interest and also making things difficult for yourself. Soccer is a game of the intelligent. When the kids understand this, they feel inspired.
